W.T.B.C CLUB COMPETITIONS

 

RULES

 

SINGLES:

 

CHAMPIONSHIP : 4 Bowls per player. Winner to be confirmed when the first player reaches 21 Shots

 

2 WOOD SINGLES : 2 Bowls per player. Winner to be confirmed to the player who has most shots scored at 21 Ends. Alternatively the Winner can also be determined if the player mathematically cannot win the game.

 

PRESIDENTS CUP: 3 Bowl singles. You are placed in a group of 4. A minimum of 16 names is required. Each game consist of 7Ends or 40mins. A killed end gives the oppositon 2 points. 5 Points for a win 2 Points for a draw 1 Point for each end won. 1 Person with the most points from each group will progress to the semi final.

 

FIXED JACK: 4 Bowls Per player. A legal length Jack to be delivered. Once in place the Marker shall place a pin under the Jack where it shall remain for the rest of the End. If the Jack gets moved off the Pin the marker is to place the Jack back onto it.  If a bowl rests covering the pin, the bowl will be moved to the side with the minimum amount necessary to allow the Jack to be placed. Winner will be confirmed by the player who reaches 15 Shots.

 

PAIRS:

 

4 WOOD PAIRS : 4 Bowls per Player – 2 people in a team. In your pairing you should make the decision who is Lead and Skip before the game begins . This is to stay the same the whole way through the competition. Winner to be confirmed to the pair with the most shots after 18 Ends. If the score is equal at end of play an Extra End will be played.

 

2 WOOD PAIRS : 2 Bowls per Player – 2 people in a team. In your pairing you should make the decision who is Lead and Skip before the game begins. This is to stay the same the whole way through the competition. Winner to be confirmed to the pair with the most shots after 18 Ends. If the score is equal at end of play an Extra End will be played.

 

MIXED PAIRS : 4 Bowls per Player - 2 people In a team. In your pairing you should make the decision who is Lead and Skip before the game begins. This is to stay the same the whole way through the competition. Winner to be confirmed to the pair with the most shots after 18 Ends. If the score is equal at end of play an Extra End will be played.

 

CLUB TRIPLES DAY : 3 Bowls per player - 3 people in a team. In your team you should make the decision who is lead number 2 and Skip before the game begins. This is to stay the same through the day. Winner to be confirmed to the triple with the most shots after 12 Ends

 

CLUB RINKS DAY : 2 bowl per player. 4 people to a team. In your team you should make the decision who is lead, 2, 3 and Skip before the game begins. This is to stay the same through the day. This year the competition is being played as a Round Robin. Winner to be confirmed to the four with the most games Won after all the games are completed.Each Game consists of 12 Ends.

 

Brown Cup: 2 bowl per player. 4 people to a team. In your team you should make the decision who is lead, 2, 3 and Skip before the game begins. This is to stay the same through the day. A minimum of 16 names is required. Each game is 7 ends or 45 minutes. 10 Points for Winning the game 5 points for a draw and 1 point for every end won. A killer end gives the opposition 2 points. Team with the highest points after all games completed wins.

 

 

 

ARRANGING A GAME

 

The first named player  ( I.E the challenger – Red Writing ) is responsible for ;

 

( 1 ) Making contact with the second named player to arrange the game in good time or confirm to be played on the play on date

( 2 ) Make arrangements for a marker ( if arranging a singles match ).

 

If, by ONE WEEK before the play On or By Date, no contact has been received from the first name or team, then the second named team should make contact to arrange the game before the round ends. If you need contact details they should be in the fixture Book. Offer TWO Dates when they available to play. The team in RED MUST ACCEPT ONE OF THEM DATES. OTHERWISE THEY WILL BE SCRATCHED FROM THE COMPETITION. FAILURE OF BOTH TEAMS TO ARRANGE THE GAME BEFORE THE END OF THE ROUND BOTH TEAMS COULD BE ELIMINATED FROM THE COMPETITION! THE ORGANISERS WILL NEED TO SEE PROOF OF CONTACT.
