WOLVERTON TOWN BOWLS CLUB
About Us
Our club has a long standing connection with the community of Wolverton after it was established by the employees of the Wolverton Rail Works in 1900. The train carriage that was used as the club house over 100 years ago remains an integral part of the clubhouse structure that stands today
We have 40 active playing members as well as our social members who support the club throughout the playing season and beyond. We have started to build on our junior section where we have 4 members under the age of 17. These juniors attend the annual junior academy where they learn the skills of the game from qualified coaches.
Our season runs April through to September where we play every weekend in mixed friendlies against other clubs in various areas such as Bucks, Beds, Northamptonshire and Oxfordshire. Our ladies also play midweek friendlies.
We have four teams that compete in the Ray Keen League, The club enters various competitions such as the Bletchley and District (B&D) mixed and men's competitions, The Bucks cup, Trundell Trophy and the Burnham Plate .
We have a number of individuals who enter in national competitions which could lead to them reaching Leamington - the home of bowls.
Outside of bowls we have a number of social functions including over the Winter period.
